The Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad

"Recently, I visited Aga Khan Academy School in Hyderabad for my child's admission to the first grade. The admission process included a comprehensive assessment of various skills such as behaviour, communication skills, and class participation and group activities . Despite this thorough evaluation, our application was unfortunately declined after a week, with the feedback that my child's communication skills and overall performance were not up to the expected standard. As a parent, this experience was disheartening. It's crucial for educational institutions to foster a positive and encouraging environment for young learners. The approach taken by Aga Khan Academy in assessing and providing feedback on potential students felt unnecessarily harsh and potentially demotivating. This method of evaluation can be distressing for both the children and their parents. I believe that while maintaining high standards is important, schools also have a responsibility to nurture and encourage young minds, especially at such a formative stage. Constructive feedback and a more empathetic approach towards admissions could significantly improve the experience for future applicants and their families."

The Aga Khan Academy is truly one of the best schools in the country lead by it’s mission of providing education to deserving students on merit bases and creating future leaders. It has so much diversity that helps children to grow 360 degrees and not just academically. To me the campus looks like a foreign university. It’s highly recommended.

An amazing lush green 100 acre residential campus where the learning goes beyond the classroom. Guided by the noble vision of His Highness the Aga Khan, it is one of the four globally placed Academies, the others being in Mombasa, Maputo and Dhaka. It’s unique approach to imparting lifelong, pluralistic and humanistic learning impacts the children as they emerge into global citizens.

This is one of the best place i ever seen, Its a very good I.B curriculum school and first in AP state. The school teaches the students how to build and how to face the world, and recognizes the student's hidden talent. This school concentrates on both physical and mental education and also provides extra-curriculum activities which are needed. The best things i like about this school are, the teachers and students here are friendly and the green and fresh environment.....

The reason I gave this school one star is because there is no feature to give it a 'no star'. I am glad that I did not send my high achiever kid to this school. Just for the record, she now goes to one of those prestigious, highly competitive Magnet schools for gifted and talented kids, in the United States. Had she gotten an admission into Aga Khan, she would have missed the opportunity to study in this school, where even potential parents are treated like they are valued entities for the success of the school. I did not intend to leave a review until I saw this sloppy marketing poster from the institution in my inbox this morning. It is a one page poster informing about the opening of enrollment for 2016-17. There was no personalized message or any other information that parents would have liked to access in one click. But that is not the purpose of writing this review. This shoddy marketing approach just refreshed my memory of what I experienced with the school. My friend who was helping me get information for the admission of my then 7th grader visited the school on my behalf. Out of his busy schedule, he traveled from out station for a day just to meet with the counselor with whom he had scheduled an appointment well in advance. Forty minutes after waiting without being greeted or asked why he was there or who he was waiting to meet, he approached the front desk to find out if he could meet the person he was scheduled to meet with. The lady asked him to be seated, which we already was. One and half hours later there was still no news of the counselor or her availability, or even a piece of information from the front desk exec. who kept moving around right in front of my seated friend. He had to leave as he had a return flight to get on, that evening. What was even more shocking is that, I got no reply from the counselor (the same person who was supposed to meet my friend) when I had reported via email about this experience of my friend, much less an apology. And today they had the gumption to send me out this one page mailer. That indicates the sad state of organization within their marketing department. Maybe I am asking for a lot in expecting basic customer relationship from a so called prestigious institution like Aga Khan Academy. That, I blame it on my exposure to customer approach in the United States. Sadly, that was totally non-existent, at least to my experience!!
